Darren Rahn releases his Trippin ‘N’ Rhythm Debut “Speechless”

The long wait is over and after making his segue to Trippin ‘N’ Rhythm, the stage is set for the release of this, his third and most revealing record to date.

Having firmly established himself as a first call producer, mixing up #1 hits for Dave Koz, Tim Bowman and his longtime friend and collaborator, the late great Wayman Tisdale, Darren Rahn puts it all out on full display, proving that beyond being a serious producer, he is equally adept at songwriting and proves again that his saxophone chops rank with the best in the business.

A master at melody, Rahn is also a true craftsman when it comes to creating strong hooks, and they are both on full display with the lead single “Magnetic”, an apropos title for a song with a pull so strong that it sticks to you and you’ll not soon get it off.

Rahn brings some of his closest friends along for the ride with cameo appearances from Dave Koz, Paul Brown, Najee, and Nate Harasim. The album also features two very special vocal tracks, the title track “Speechless” highlighted by the breathtaking voice of Maxine Hardcastle and he also welcomes the exciting and dynamic new vocal sensation Joshua on the track “Magical”, which is truly that and is destined to become a pop smash.

Darren's song "Tale of Two Cities" has been placed in the brand new #1 Sony Picures blockbuster movie "Cloudy With A Chance Of Meatballs."  As a major Sony Pictures release, this 3-D animated movie was the #1 movie in America  this past weekend as it opened in theatres across the US! You can catch Darren's cool sax vibe early in the film during the "Coffee Break" scene!

Darren Rahn is the “Talk of the Town” with #1 Billboard Hit

…after producing a slew of #1 and top five hits as a producer, Darren Rahn achieves #1 on Billboard as a solo artist.

You may know Darren Rahn from his production work in #1 hits with radio favorites like Wayman Tisdale, Dave Koz, Eric Darius and Tim Bowman, along with other songs in the top three. However, it is time to crank up your radio dial and tune into Darren Rahn – the solo artist. Darren’s single, “Talk of the Town,” topped the Billboard chart at number one this week.

Rahn gives all the credit to his growing fanbase for his success. “It’s both an honor and humbling to reach #1. To know that fans around the world are enjoying what you do is a tremendous feeling. Everything I do is for them. If I can create something that makes a listener feel good, then I know I’ve done my job.”

About the artist:
Rahn began working behind the scenes in the mid-90s producing and programming tracks for other artists. It was his work with Wayman Tisdale in 2004 on the #1 single, “Ain't No Stopping Us Now," that would bring Rahn to the forefront of the music industry.

“Until my work with Wayman, I remained pretty much behind the scenes," said Rahn. Rahn continued to work in the studio with Tisdale and an assortment of other smooth jazz heavy hitters. These relationships would prove pivotal in the launching of his solo career and enabled him to quickly move from the console to the stage. By 2006, Rahn co-headlined in Catalina along-side Brian Culbertson and has toured with Tim Bowman, played with leading acts like Wayman Tisdale, Eric Darius, Kim Waters and Greg Karukus. In 2007, Rahn signed with nuGroove Records and released his debut CD,Once in a Lifetime.

However, it was the release in 2009 of his second album, Talk of the Town, which created a buzz with music insiders. Bob Davis at the www.Soul-Patrol.com proclaimed, “Quiet as it's kept, some of the best stuff in Black music today is on the contemporary jazz scene. And, Mr. Darren Rahn is emerging as one of its most important artists...” Hans-Bernd Hlsmann (HBH), www.Smooth-Jazz.de said, “Darren found the receipt for recognition. Sultry melodies and perfect interpretation.”

David Chackler, President and CEO of nuGroove Records, saw the potential in Rahn early on when signing him to the label. “Signing Darren Rahn was a wise investment. He has the chops and the fans love him. It was really a no-brainer for me and one of the best decisions I’ve made to date.”

“Talk Of The Town” is also the Title Track of the album which will be released nationwide on February 17th. As one of the smooth jazz genre’s hottest producers, Darren has dominated the Billboard and R&R Charts over the past few years. He recently had three consecutive #1 productions on the coveted R&R smooth jazz chart, holding the #1 position with three different artists (Dave Koz, Eric Darius & Tim Bowman) from September all the way through the end of 2008. That’s 14 consecutive weeks at #1! During that time he held the top three chart positions for several weeks and had as many as four songs in the top ten at the same time.

Now Darren is stepping out front again as a well-established artist in his own right - bringing together an All-Star Cast for his new release from NuGroove Records. The ceremony will take place at the Living Arts Centre, Mississauga, Friday April 24th at 8pm. Darren will be performing as a member of De’Nate’ and will also be featured on sax with Brian Culbertson.
